Terms
These are the terms for everyone on Phyto Artisan — the people who sell, and the people who buy. Everyone uses the same terms. They are written in plain language so they translate cleanly and so that both sides know exactly where they stand.
There are two parts. Part A is for shop owners. Part B is for buyers. Opening a shop means accepting Part A and agreeing to give every buyer the protections in Part B.
How Phyto Artisan works
Phyto Artisan is a marketplace of the HerbWoman school. Each shop is run by its own maker — a student or graduate of the school, or a trusted partner. When you buy, your purchase is from that shop, and the shop packs and sends your order itself. Phyto Artisan runs the website, takes the payment through Stripe, helps buyers and sellers, and is responsible for its own part — the platform and the payment service we provide. We are not the maker of the goods.
Shop owner terms
Who may open a shop
Shops may be opened by current students of any programme year, by graduates, and by partners the school has approved. Your standing is checked against the school register when you open the shop and once a year after that. A shop closes if a student leaves the programme without graduating.
What you may sell
You may sell what you make, blend, dry, grow, print or pack yourself, and goods from the earth in the spirit of the marketplace. Reselling bought-in finished goods is not permitted. Every listing must be honest about the plant, the origin, the quantity and how it was prepared, and must follow the product safety policy. You are responsible for your products being safe, correctly labelled, and lawful to sell and to send to each destination you choose.
You are the seller
The sale is a contract between you and the buyer. You are the seller of record: your name is on the order, you supply the goods, and you give the buyer their rights under the law and under Part B — including the right to change their mind. Phyto Artisan facilitates the sale and the payment; it does not become the seller of your goods. You must be a registered business to sell here — a company of any kind, with a registration number. We ask for your legal business name, your registration number and a real contact address when you open the shop; your name appears on every order and receipt. You may not sell as a private individual.
What it costs — nothing to you
Opening and keeping a shop is free, forever. No listing fee, no monthly fee. Phyto Artisan earns from a small 6% service charge added to the buyer at checkout — it is not taken from you. You receive the price you set.
Your promises to buyers and to us
Your own web address
If you like, you can point your own domain name at your shop so you can share just your own storefront. Your shop still runs entirely on Phyto Artisan — you never host or manage the site yourself; you set only your banner, logo and products, exactly as in the seller desk. Every such page still carries “Run by Phyto Artisan” and every sale still goes through our checkout under these same terms.
Pausing or closing a shop
We may pause a listing or a shop where a listing carries a health claim, where labelling is missing, where dispatch is repeatedly late, or where a safety report is under review. You are told the reason in writing and what is needed to reopen. You may close your shop at any time; open orders must be fulfilled or refunded first.
Buyer terms
Who you are buying from
You buy from the shop shown on the listing — a maker, not a faceless warehouse. That shop supplies your order and handles returns. Phyto Artisan takes your payment, helps you, and is here if something goes wrong.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in your own currency wherever we can, and the exact amount you pay is set at checkout. A small 6% Phyto Artisan service charge is added at checkout and is always shown in your total before you pay — never a surprise. You pay once. If your basket holds items from more than one shop, each shop is charged separately, so you may see more than one line on your card statement and your orders arrive in more than one parcel — we tell you this before you pay. If you would rather have a single parcel and one charge, order from one shop at a time.
Changing your mind — your 14 days
For most things you buy at a distance you have 14 days to change your mind, counted from the day your order arrives, without giving a reason. To make this easy, we always send you a ready-made withdrawal form with your order confirmation — you can use it, or simply tell the shop in any clear way. You then send the goods back, and you are refunded.
A few things can't be returned once opened, because the law allows an exception:
Where the 14 days do apply and you are ever not given the form and the information, your time to change your mind is extended by law.
Returns and refunds
Delivery
Each shop sends its own parcel and shows its own postage, worked out by the weight of your order and where it is going. Delivery times are the shop's honest estimate. Orders sent across a customs border may attract import duty or tax set by your own country; that is paid by you. If an order does not arrive, contact the shop first; if it is not resolved, contact us.
If something goes wrong
Start with the shop; if that does not resolve it, write to us and we will help. If it still can't be settled, you keep every right to take a complaint to the consumer authority or small-claims route in your own country — nothing in these terms takes that away.
Your data
We keep only what we need to run your orders and your account. You can ask us to show, correct, export or delete your personal data at any time. See our privacy notice for the detail.
Changes, law and contact
If we change these terms, we announce it by email 30 days before it takes effect, and we never change the terms of an order you have already placed. Earlier versions are kept on file. These terms keep every protection the consumer law of Norway and Iceland gives you — where our wording and the law differ, the law wins. Write to us any time through the contact page.
